Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has broken  his silence over the  political developments in Goa where several Congress leaders recently joined the BJP .

Addressing a press conference on the 15th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra Rahul said said, “We’re fighting a machine that has captured the institutional framework of this country, that has unlimited money & ability to buy, pressurise and threaten people. The outcome of that is what you’ve seen in Goa.”

The Gandhi scion did not hold back his attack on the RSS and the BJP when he stated , “There is a link between spreading of hate by BJP-RSS, concentration of capital by a chosen few, the gross unemployment rate and massive inflation spike. The people of India are beginning to realise that.

“The effect of the yatra will be the same state after state regardless of who is the ruling party there because the people of India are feeling tremendous pain.

“The Kerala leg has been a success. People have been coming out regardless of their affiliation. The success of the yatra is based on the fact that majority of the people appreciate that India is not at war with itself.

The yatra is designed to tell the people that they need to be united and go back to an India which was loving and affectionate to itself.”

On the forthcoming Congress president polls, Rahul Gandhi said, “you’re taking on a historic position that defines a particular view of India. Congress chief is an ideological post. You represent a set of ideas, a belief system and vision of India.”

Rahul Gandhi had a advise for Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot too. As remarked, What we had decided in Udaipur (One Person, One Post) is a commitment of Congress & I expect that commitment will be maintained (on party’s presidential post).

Gehlot according to reports is not willing to let go the Chief Minister’s post and become Congress president too as well .
