Kolkata Knight Riders came out with a complete team performance as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets in an IPL encounter at Jaipur.
It was thoroughly clinical performance by Dinesh karthik skippered KKR. They kept the RR team in check in the power play and just did not allow them to break free. Karthik won the toss and asked the Royals to bat first.
The Royals start was dismal one. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane continued his poor form and fell for 5. Jos Buttler scored 37 . Steve Smith finally scored something big a 59 ball 73 . Rahul Tripathi ( 6) and Ben Stokes a struggling 7 not out. Royals could score only 139/ 3 in their 20 overs.
KKR bowlers did a fine job. With IPL debutant English left- arm speedster Harry Gurney taking 2/ 25 ( 4 overs) , Prasidh Krishna 1/ 35 ( 4 overs) Sunil Narine 0/ 22 ( 4 overs) Kuldeep Yadav 0/ 33 ( 4 overs)
Unlike the Royals, KKR began in attacking fashion with openers Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine punishing the Royals bowlers with ease and making the wicket look completely different . The pair put on 91 for the first wicket and effectively dashed the any Royal hopes of an unlikely win. Narine was blazing with the bat scoring fast paced 47 off 25 balls with 6 fours and three sixes. Lynn was not to be left behind scoring a quick 50 off 32 balls with 6 fours and three sixes. Robin Uthappa not out 26 and young Shubman Gill not out 6 saw the KKR home in only 13. 5 overs. It was a crushing win for KKR over the Royals. KKR finished at 140/ 2 in 13. 5 overs.
Shreyas Gopal for the Royals took both the wickets of Lynn and Narine and finished with 2/ 35 ( 4 overs)
