Owned by Mukesh Ambani and skippered by Rohit Sharma , the team has three IPL titles under its belt – 2013, 2017 and 2017 . And this year they will be targeting a record fourth title .

Mumbai Indians have always been slow starters in the IPL losing  early matches. But somehow given the format of the tournament , they  have managed to bounce back to win crucial games to get themselves back as title contenders many  times. And this has been the attribute of their IPL campaigns over the years.

Mumbai Indians Team 2019 : Rohit Sharma (c), Jasprit Bumrah, Quinton De Kock (wk), Lasith Malinga, Anmolpreet Singh, Jason Behrendorff, Rahul Chahar, Ben Cutting, Ishan Kishan, Pankaj Jaiswal, Siddesh Lad, Evin Lewis, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Adam Milne, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Rasikh Salam, Anukul Roy, Barinder Sran, Aditya Tare, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj Singh

Team is good all – round side. perfect when it comes to the T20 format. Skipper Rohit Sharma has led from the front with his astute captaincy and batting. Pandya brothers – Hardik and Krunal give value to the side with their all – round skills . Young Ishan Kishan was a revelation last year. The team has explosive hitters like Kieron Pollard ( he was off form last year though ) Aussie Ben Cutting, And Proteas batsman Quinton De Kock.

This IPL is probably the last for flamboyant  37 – year-old – Yuvraj Singh . Out of team India the hero of India’s T20 2007 World Cup and 2011 World Cup wins has been a shadow of his former self off- late leading to clarion calls for his retirement.   The spotlight will surely be on Yuvi when Mumbai Indians take the field. He has played for as many as five IPL teams so far  before  Mumbai Indians. His previous stints were with –  Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and the worst team in IPL Sahara Pune Warriors

At the top of the order Suryakumar Yadav gave the team the flying start last year. So  onus will be on him to repeat the act.

Bowling has Jasprit Bumrah, big Kiwi Mitchell McClenaghan Jason Behrendorff, spinner Mayank Markande besides the Pandya brothers. Yuvraj can roll his arm over too.

So Rohit has the line- up to go for the fourth title. Will they be able to do it ? Keeping fingers crossed
