The 2014 runners- up and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta’s side co- owned with Ness Wadia, Kings XI Punjab,  will be desperate to improve their showing the IPL season 12. Last season was ordinary finishing 7th out of 8 teams .

Agnivesh Ayachi, Harpreet Brar, Moises Henriques, Lokesh Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, Ravichandran Ashwin (Skipper) , Mandeep Singh, Andrew Tye, Chris Gayle, Ankit Rajpoot, Murugan Ashwin, Karun Nair, Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, David Miller, Sarfaraz Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Simran Singh, Hardus Viljoen, Mayank Agarwal, Mohammed Shami, Darshan Nalkande.

Captained by Ravichandran Ashwin who did excel as skipper in the early stages but later flopped last year, the Kings will be hoping to reverse their poor showing.

For that lot will depend on mercurial opener Chris Gayle . At 39 he is not young. But he showed some glimpse of his power last year . If he able to produce that this time the Kings can hope to have good tournament. For that he has to be consistent . He is likely to get support from K L Rahul ( had a fabulous tournament last year that got him a place in the Indian team in all formats). Then there are useful batsmen like Karun Nair, Mandeep Singh power hitter in David Miller ( wasted last year at the bench) Mayank Agarwal.

The bowling looks pretty good with Ravichandran Ashwin, Afghan prodigy Mujeeb ur Rahman, young England all- rounder Sam Curran, Andre Tye ( brilliant last year among the top wicket- takers) Mohammed Shami.

Plagued by inconsistency Kings have lost the plot after bright start in many seasons , So can they break this Jinx?
