Rapper-actor Cardi B is the latest addition to the crew of “Fast & Furious 9”. Her role in the hugely popular franchise though is kept under wraps.
Among her numerous accolades, Cardi B has won a Grammy Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, two Guinness World Records, 11 BET Hip Hop Awards, three American Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards.
Her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), on which the former two songs are included, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, broke several streaming records, and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA. Critically acclaimed, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, making Cardi B the only woman to win the award as a solo artist.
Franchise star Vin Diesel announced her casting in an Instagram video on Tuesday showed him and Cardi B on the last day of the movie’s UK schedule.
“I’m tired, but I can’t wait. I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one,” she says in the clip.
“Fast 9” is the second film outing for Cardi B, since her role in this year’s “Hustlers”.
Besides Diesel, the ninth installment of the action drama franchise brings back Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren.
John Cena is also a part of the new film, which is slated to be released on May 22, 2020.
