In yet another dastardly attack , terrorists have killed two teachers in Srinagar. A woman was also killed . The two teachers were of government school, one was a principal . This latest strike comes two days after three civilians, including a prominent chemist, were gunned down in the city. The victims were identified as Satinder Kaur and Deepak Chand, both residents of Allocha Bagh in Srinagar.

The Kashmir Valley has witnessed three targeted civilian killings in 90 minutes, which included a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman Makhan Lal Bindroo and the owner of Srinagar’s most famous pharmacy, and a resident of Bihar who earned his daily bread by selling ‘golgappa’ and ‘bhelpuri’.

Bindroo was killed around 7 pm while he was dispensing medicine at Iqbal Park, which is barely a few metres from the office of Senior Superintendent of Police and ‘Cargo’, the headquarters of the anti-militancy unit of Jammu and Kashmir police.

Reacting to the Killings, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Vice- president Omar Abdullah in a tweet wrote , “Shocking news coming in again from Srinagar. Another set of targeted killings, this time of two teachers in a Govt school in Idgah area of the city. Words of condemnation are not enough for this inhuman act of terror but I pray for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.”

PDP leader and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, slammed the Centre’s claim of normalcy in the state in a tweet, With the recent spate of civilian killings in Kashmir GOIs fake narrative of normalcy lies in tatters. An utterly desensitised govt that has devalued human lives & pushed J&K into further peril & chaos by its ruthless policies of collective punishment all in the garb of security.
