#TATAIPL2022 : Match 31 : Faf du Plessis , Josh Hazelwood Play Key Roles As Royal Challengers Bangalore Beat Lucknow Super Giants By 18 Runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore came out with a solid all-round show as they beat Lucknow Super Giants in the Tata IPL 2022 encounter at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai by 18 runs thus winning their fifth match .

LSG skipper KL Rahul fielded first after winning the toss . RCB began on shaky note opener Anuj Rawat out for 4 . Virat Kohli out for 0 made it 7/2 . Glenn Maxwell was dismissed at 23 when the total was 44/3 in 5.2 overs. As wickets fell around him, RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis played a captain’s knock and rolled back years . du Plessis was unlucky not to get to a well deserved 100 as he was out for entertaining and innings of 96 ( 64 balls, 11 fours, 2 sixes) . Suyash Prabhudessai ( 10) , Shahbaz Ahmed ( 26) , Dinesh Karthik not out 13 saw RCB from a position of bother reach a fighting 181/ 5 in their 20 overs. With their bowling attack they had something to bowl at .

LSG bowlers were on target and did well to restrict RCB : Sri Lankan Dushmantha Chameera 2/31 (3 overs), Avesh Khan 0/ 33 ( 4 overs) and Jason Holder 2/25 ( 4 overs) were the top bowlers . Krunal Pandya 1/ 29 ( 4 overs) , Ravi Bishnoi 0/ 47 ( 4 overs) , Marcus Stoinis 0/ 14 ( 1 over)

In reply , LSG got a early jolt as accurate Josh Hazelwood got rid of Quinton de Kock for 3 . Manish Pandey was another Hazelwood victim for 6 . Skipper K L Rahul was out for 30 . Krunal Pandya tried hard to keep the chase with a quick 28 ball 41 with five fours and two sixes. Deepak Hood was out cheaply for 13 . Ayush Badoni too fell for 13 to Hazelwood . LSG batsmen found runs hard to come by . Marcus Stoinis was their last hope but he was bowled by Hazelwood for 24 . Lucknow Super Giants could manage 163 / 8 in their 20 overs . RCB winning by 18 runs.
