#TATAIPL2022 : Match 27 : Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazelwood Star In RCB’s 16 Run Win Over Delhi Capitals

Royals Challengers Bangalore moved in to third  place in the points table of the Tata IPL 2022 as they beat Delhi Capitals by 16 runs at Wankhede stadium . It was RCB’s fourth win in six games while Delhi suffered their third loss in five games.

Delhi Skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first . RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis was out for 8. Fellow opener Anuj Rawat was out for 0. And Virat Kohli was run- out for 12 . RCB tottering at 40/ 3 in 6.2 overs. Suyash Prabhudessai was out for 5 . But belligerent Glenn Maxwell knows how to play best- attack . Maxwell stroked a typical innings a 34 ball 55 with seven fours and two sixes. Shahbaz Ahmed chipped in with a quick unbeaten 21 ball 32 with three fours and one six. But the highlight of the RCB innings was special finish yet again by Dinesh Karthik. In brilliant form and doing his role as finisher with ease. Karthik smashed a blazing unbeaten 34 ball 66 studded with five fours and five sixes. In red hot form, Karthik is surely pushing his place in India’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad . It was Karthik finish that propelled RCB to reach 189/ 5 in their 20 overs.

Delhi bowlers had these figures  :  Mustafizur Rahman 0/ 48 ( 4 overs) , Shardul Thakur 1/ 27 ( 4 overs), Khaleel Ahmed 1/ 36 ( 4 overs) , Axar Patel 1/ 29 ( 4 overs) , Kuldeep Yadav 1/ 46 ( 4 overs)

Chasing 190. Delhi lost Prithvi Shaw early ( 16). In fine form David Warner played yet another blazing innings at the top . Till the time he was there Delhi were in control .  But his dismissal started the slide . Warner scored a 38 ball 66 with four fours and five sixes before he out leg before to Wanindu Hasaranga . Playing his first match Mitchell Marsh was nervous and found runs hard to come by. He struggled to find his timing and was out for a nervy 14 ball 24. Skipper Rishabh Pant tried hard  as the run rate was climbing with a 17 ball 34 with three fours and two sixes. But Pant was out to a brilliant one- handed catch by Virat Kohli.  Mohammed Siraj  was  the bowler.  After Pant was out Delhi struggled and could manage 173/ 7 in their 20 overs . Thus losing by 16 runs .

For RCB , Josh Hazlewood was the star with fine figures of 3/ 28 ( 4 overs) . Mohammed Siraj 2/ 31 ( 4 overs) , Wanindu Hasaranga 1/ 40 ( 4 overs) , Shahbaz Ahmed 0/ 19 ( 2 overs) , Harshal Patel 0/ 40 ( 4 overs) , Glenn Maxwell 0/ 14 ( 2 overs)
