#TATAIPL 2023 : Defending Champions Gujarat Titans Beat A Listless Delhi Capitals By Six Wickets

Defending Champions Gujarat Titans romped home to their second straight win of the Tata IPL 2023 . The Titans beat a Listless Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla , New Delhi .

GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first . Opener Prithvi Shaw fell early for 7 . Skipper David Warner after a uncharacteristic first game was expected to fire but he too did not fire and scored 37 . Big hope Mitchell Marsh also flopped out for 4. Sarfaraz Khan , much talked about struggled to score a sedate 34 off 30 balls . Rilee Rossouw out without disturbing the scores . Timely cameos by Abishek Porel 20 ( 11 balls ) and ever improving all- rounder Axar Patel 36 off 22 balls helped DC recover and gave bowlers some target to bowl at . DC eventually reaching 182/8 in their 20 overs.

GT Bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals to jolt Delhi Capitals : Mohammed Shami 3/ 41 ( 4 overs) , Rashid Khan 3/ 31 ( 4 overs) , Alzarri Joseph 2/ 29 ( 4 overs) he bowled with some pace and generated bounce from the pitch. Hardik Pandya 0/ 18 ( 3 overs) , Joshua Little 0/ 27 ( 4 overs) , Yash Dayal 0/ 12 ( 1 over)

Given the strong GT batting line-up, Delhi Capitals had their task cut out and needed early wickets to stay in the hunt.

GT opener Wriddhiman Saha scored 14 when he bowled by a fiery pace delivery from South African Anrich Nortje. Anrich Nortje bowled with pace and next had Shubman Gill bowled too as well for 14 . Skipper Hardik Pandya was out cheaply for 5 . But the GT got the chase on track due to the partnership between young Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar . The du frustrated Delhi Capitals with t their stand . Sai Sudharsan was superb in his match- winning unbeaten 62 off 48 balls * 4 fours, 2 sixes) . Shankar scored a quick 23 ball 29 with three fours . It was big hitting David Miller with his power unbeaten cameo of 16 ball 31 with 2 fours and 2 sixes along with Sudharsan saw GT home without losing any more wickets. GT romping home by six wickets reaching 163/ 4 in 18. 1 overs

Defending Champions GT have begun well with two confident wins . DC with have to re-think their playing eleven combination quickly. Tough times ahead for Skipper David Warner , Head Coach Ricky Ponting , Sourav Ganguly, Director Of cricket to arrest the slide before it is too late
