#T20WorldCup2021: England Powered By Sterling Bowling Show Crush Defending Champions West Indies By 6 Wickets

England began their quest for the T20 World Cup 2021 in emphatic style as they beat defending Champions West Indies by six wickets in Dubai.

England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bowl first and his bowlers came out with a sterling show backed by superb fielding as they bundled out West Indies for a mere 55 in 14 . 2 overs.

The West Indies batting simply could not get going . That Chris Gayle ( 13) was the only batsman to reach double figures told the sorry state of the West Indies batting. Lendl Simmons ( 3) , Evin Lewis ( 6), Shimron Hetmyer ( 9) Skipper Kieron Pollard ( 6), Nicholas Pooran ( 1) Dwayne Bravo ( 5) , Andre Russel ( 0)

For England , Adil Rashid was the star with stunning figures of 4/2 ( 2.2 overs), Moeen Ali opening the bowling was brilliant with 2/17 ( 4 overs). Well supported by Chris Woakes 1/12 ( 2 0vers), Tymal Mills 2/ 17 ( 4 overs) Chris Jordan 1/ 7 ( 2 overs). England skipper Morgan was spot on with bowling changes and perfect field placements.

Chasing 55 . England in chase lost early wickets but the target was never a problem . Though England would have loved to win with ease but not by losing 4 wickets while chasing 55 . Jos Buttler not out 24 and skipper Eion Morgan not out 7 saw England home by six wickets. England reached 56/ 4 in 8.2 overs. Jason Roy ( 11) , Jonny Bairstow ( 9), Moeen Ali ( 3 ) , Liam Livingstone ( 1) were the batsmen dismissed.

For West Indies Akeal Hosein 2/24 ( 4 overs) , Ravi Rampaul 1/ 14( 2 overs) were the wicket- takers.
