The plea filed in the Supreme Court by seven wrestlers seeking registration of FIR against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president, Brij Bhushan Singh has been mentioned before the court today. The SC lists the matter pertaining to the plea for Friday. “There are serious allegation that is contained in the petition by Wrestlers who have represented India,” the SC notes.
WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was accused by the wrestlers of sexual misconduct and intimidation. The government established a five-member oversight council to oversee WFI operations. Boxer Mary Kom is heading the oversight committee which was formed to probe into the allegations levelled against the WFI and its chief Singh and other coaches.
A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Jusitce P S Narasimha took note of the submissions of senior advocate Kapil Sibal that despite the sexual harassment allegations no FIR has been lodged.

Issue notice. List it (for hearing) on Friday April 28 , the bench said and ordered redaction of names of complainant wrestlers from judicial records with a view to suppress their identities.
