Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lok Sabha that the BJP condemns any philosophy which describes Nathuram Godse as a patriot. He strongly slammed Pragya Thakur’s statements and in no sense endorses such ideologies and views.
Singh said that Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy was and remains relevant today and described him as a guide (marg darshak).
“Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings have inspired us and will continue to do. People across the political spectrum consider him as an idol”
Pragya’s comments hailing Godse as deshbhakt has rocked parliament and the opposition lodging a full protest.
After Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla refuses to encourage any debate on the issue of Pragya Thakur, the Opposition stages a walk-out in protest.
