During his campaign in Tamil Nadu, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has slammed the incumbent AIADMK Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami when he said : “He (CM Edappadi Palaniswami) must not let RSS insult Tamil culture. Modi says ‘1 nation, 1 culture, 1 history’. Is Tamil not an Indian language? Is Tamil history not Indian or is Tamil culture not Indian? As an Indian, it’s my duty to protect Tamil culture.

“Govt in Delhi doesn’t respect Tamil culture. They’ve a CM who does everything they say. CM doesn’t represent State, he represents what Modi wants him to do. A person who bows before only Modi can’t represent Tamil Nadu.”

Rahul Gandhi also wished DMK chief MK Stalin on his birthday .

“A very happy birthday to DMK President Shri MK Stalin. Wishing you good health and much happiness,” Gandhi tweeted.

Earlier in the day, Stalin on his birthday paid floral tribute to his father and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s at his memorial in Chennai.

He also paid tribute to the party founder and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, CN Annadurai at Anna Memorial.

“Within 2 months there’s going to be a change in govt, that people are eagerly waiting for…We’ve planned to make Tamil Nadu become advanced in the next 10 yrs. DMK is working for people irrespective of being or not being in power,” Stalin said.
