#Prophet Muhammad : Following Overnight Protests, Additional Forces Deployed In Parts Of Hyderabad ; Asaduddin Owaisi Hits Out At BJP

Additional police forces have been deployed in parts of Hyderabad following overnight protests against suspended Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Raja Singh’s alleged remarks against Prophet Muhammad that stretched into Wednesday morning.

AS per PTi report, Singh was arrested by Hyderabad police on Tuesday for making remarks against Islam and Prophet Muhammad. in a video, which was later pulled down by the social media platform on which it was uploaded.

Later, he was granted bail by a local court. Following his release protests erupted with people taking to streets on late Tuesday night in various parts of the city including Charminar area, prompting the police to beef up security.

Additional forces have been deployed wherever it is necessary. Telangana Police carried out a flag march in Hyderabad

Some protests were held on Monday night. But the situation is peaceful now, G Biksham Reddy Assistant Commissioner of Police, Charminar told PTI on Wednesday.

MLAs belonging to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen reached several parts of the old city where large number of Muslim youth were protesting holding black flags and tried to reason with them, the party sources said.

“Passions running high, rogue youth raising slogans. We won’t stop protests till Raja Singh is arrested,” AIMIM Corporator Mustafa Ali Muzaffar said. Following an uproar over his remarks, the BJP suspended Singh from the party.

Reacting to the Hyderabad incident, Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM president had slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Telangana MLA Raja Singh over his alleged remarks on Prophet Muhammad stating that it was a deliberate attempt by the BJP to destroy the country’s social fabric.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad , Owaisi said, “I condemn the comments made by BJP MLA. BJP does not want to see peace in Hyderabad. They hate Prophet Muhammad and Muslims. They want to destroy the social fabric of India.” He said that Prime Minister Modi should at least react to this issue.
