Prime Minister Narendra Modi Hopeful That The Bodo Agreement Will Usher New Era

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a rally in Kokrajhar ,Assam,  to celebrate the signing of the Bodo Agreement, made a jibe at former Congress president  Rahul Gandhi’s “danda” remark and said that some leaders talk about beating him with sticks but he is protected by the blessings of “all mothers of India”.

“Kabhi kabhi log danda marne ki baatein karte hain. Lekin jis Modi ko itne badi matra mein mata aur beheno ka suraksha kawach mila ho us par kitne bhi dande gir jaye, usko kuch nahi hota. At times some leaders talk about beating me with sticks, but I’m saved by the blessings of all mothers of India. I pay my respects and thank all of you. I am here to instill a new belief in all Assamese people.”

He also said : I welcome all those who were part of the Bodo Land Movement and have joined the mainstream. After five decades, with full harmony, the expectations and aspirations of every partner associated with the Bodo Land Movement have been respected”.

On the Bodo accord, Modi stated that it was because of people’s support that the Bodo peace accord was signed, heralding a new dawn of peace in Assam.

Earlier on his arrival Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal among others at the airport.
