Prime Minister Narendra Modi For Accelerating Vaccination Process To Ward Off Possible Third Wave, Expresses Concern Over Ignorance Of COVID Norms

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the Chief Ministers of the North-Eastern states on the COVID-19 situation via video conferencing.

According to PMO, the interaction was attended by CMs of Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam. They thanked the PM for timely action in handling the pandemic.

“We all need to work together to stop third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the third wave of coronavirus would hit the country “when we invite it”. This statement comes after there have been reports of covid norms been flouted by tourists at hill stations and markets

PM Modi during the meeting said : “To combat the possible third wave of COVID19, we need to continue to accelerate the vaccination process. It’s a matter of concern, that people are travelling without face masks at hill stations and markets.

‘PM Modi further stated : “The number of COVID-19 cases is rising. We need to take strict action to curb the situation at the micro level. We need to keep an eye on COVID variants, experts are studying them. We need to encourage people to follow COVID19 appropriate behaviour.”

Further it is learnt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will non July 16, 11 am will interact with Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala via VC .
