#MahatmaGandhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi Others Pay Rich Tributes On Death Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, saying the Father of the Nation will continue to inspire people to build a strong, capable and prosperous country.

“A tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The ideals of Bapu will continue to inspire us to build a strong, capable and prosperous New India,” Modi tweeted.

The Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in New Delhi on this day in 1948 by Nathuram Godse

President Ram Nath Kovind was the first to pay tributes followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh too paid their tributes by visiting Rajghat.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP patriarch L K Advani were also there to pay their tributes.
