Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief  and Maratha stalwart  Sharad Pawar on Tuesday has reacted to the on-going border row between Maharashtra  and Karnataka. Pawar in ani report  said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde must take all the parties in confidence before taking any decision on the border dispute with Karnataka.

Reacting to the situation, Pawar on Tuesday termed the situation in the border areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka as “worrisome”, and said time has come to take a stand after seeing what is happening there.

“Maharashtra CM Shinde must keep all the parties in confidence before taking any decision…Parliament session is about to begin, I request all MPs to come together and take a stand on the same,” Sharad Pawar told reporters regarding the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue in a report by ANI.

He said, “Despite CM Shinde’s talk with Karnataka CM, he has not shown any softness on the issue…One must not test our (Maharashtra) patience and this shouldn’t go in the wrong direction.”

“Maharashtra has taken a stand of observing patience and it is still ready to do that. But even that has a limit. In 24 hours, if the attacks on vehicles are not stopped then this patience will take a different path and the responsibility will be completely on the Karnataka chief minister and the Karnataka government,” Pawar told reporters.

After the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute escalated, many untoward incidents took place in Belagavi.

I’ve spoken with Karnataka CM, he gave positive response. Our constitution provides everyone the right to live & work in any state. I will take this issue to HM Amit Shah. I request people of Maharashtra to not react, Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue told ANI
