India clinched the T20 series against the West Indies 3-0 after winning the final one in Chennai of the last ball of the match. West Indies skipper Carlos Brathwaite chose to bat and the tourists managed 181 for three in their 20 overs, aided by Nicholas Pooran’s blazing unbeaten 53 and a good support 43 not out from Darren Bravo helped them reach a fighting total.
It looked like a challenging total. As India got off to a shaky start with skipper Rohit Sharma and K L Rahul dismissed cheaply . But India fought back with a superb 130 run partnership between the Delhi duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant.
Dhawan scored a fine 92 off 62 balls while Pant scored his first T20 fifty a power packed 58. Pant fell when India needed 7 runs to win, soon Dhawan fell putting some pressure on the India.
But Manish Pandey and Dinesh karthik held their nerves to see India home and win the match by six wickets.
