India have comfortably wrapped up the ODI series in New Zealand . They have taken an unbeatable 3-0 lead and in the process clinch the 5 match ODI series. It has been a one- sided affair in all the three ODI’s played so far.
Indian batting has been a revelation and once again top guns fired . Rohit Sharma (62) combined with captain Kohli (60) in a 113-run partnership to set up their successful chase before Ambati Rayudu (40) completed the formalities with Dinesh Karthik, who was 38 not out, as India powered home with seven overs to spare.
New Zealand were earlier dismissed for 243 from 49 overs. For the Kiwis Ross Taylor ( 93) and Tom Latham ( 51 ) were the only notable scorers in another dismal batting show.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/ 46 , Mohammed Shami 3/ 41, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/ 51 and comeback man after suspension Hardik Pandya 2/ 45 were the wicket- takers for India.
It was the last match of the New Zealand series for skipper Virat Kohli as he has been rested for the remaining two ODI’s and the 3 T20 matches given his heavy workload . Rohit Sharma will lead Indian in Virat’s absence.
