H D Kumaraswamy Becomes Karnataka Chief Minister, G Parameshwara His Deputy

JD( S) leader H D Kumaraswamy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. In the JD (S) – Congress coalition government, the Karnataka Congress president G Parameshwara was sworn-in as the deputy chief minister.  In the eye of the storm Governor Vajubhai Vala administered oath to HD Kumaraswamy.

Present on the occasion were several opposition leaders showing signs of unity against the BJP : Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar, Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s- Samajwadi party’s Akhilesh Yadav, BSP’s Mayawati, West Bengal Chief Ministrer Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury , RJD’s Tejashwai Yadav.

Speaking to CNN-news18, former prime minister and JD(S) supremo, HD Dewe Gowda said that the Congress-JD(S) coalition has his blessings. “I endorsed this coalition for the good of the people,” HD Dewe Gowda said.

meanwhile , The 34 ministries have been divided in accordance with the alliance , 22 would go to the Congress and 12 to the JD (S) . Congress has 78 MLA’s while JD ( S) has 38 .
