BJP has finally acted on Pragya Thakur. A day after BJP MP from Bhopal had created a storm in parliament after terming Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a ‘patriot’ Deshbhakt on the floor of the Lok Sabha had left the BJP red- faced .
An embarrassed BJP in a apparent damage control mode has axed her from the Defence committee parliamentary panel and barred her from attending parliamentary party meetings.
BJP Working President J P Nadda told ANI, We have decided that Pragya Singh Thakur will be removed from the consultative committee of defence, and in this session she will not be allowed to participate in the parliamentary party meetings. Her statement yesterday in the parliament is condemnable. BJP never supports such statement or ideology.
Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi, referring to Thakur,tweeted
The 56” chest must show its strength now-dealing with the likes of #pragya #thakur; not with muscle flexing and nationalism on the sleeve but here, with his party, under his nose, defaming, devaluing, defacing the father of the #Nation. #PMs resolve stature and power on test
