Deepak Hooda 23 and Chris Jordan 16 tried hard but not go over the line as the team finished with 176 / 6 in their twenty overs. Meaning the match to be decided by super over.
KXIP scored five runs off the Super Over, bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. However, Mohammed Shami too bowled brilliantly as he managed to restrict Mumbai Indians to five runs as well.
During the second Super Over, Mumbai Indians batted first and scored 11 runs. From KXIP, Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal came out to bat and easily took the side over the line on the fourth delivery. And the relief on K L Rahul’s face and sheer delight in Kings XI Punjab’s co-owner Preity Zinta was visible in the stands .
