As India witnesses a surge in coronavirus cases with over 5 lakh cases as of now and showing no signs of receding , Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in review of the situation has said : “Our recovery rate has gone above 58 per cent and around 3 lakh people have recovered from the novel coronavirus. Our mortality/fatality rate is near 3 per cent which is very less. Our doubling rate has come down to near 19 days, which was 3 days before the lockdown.”
Amid the search for a Covid-19 cure, India now has over 5 lakh novel coronavirus cases with the highest single-day spike of 18,552 cases in the last 24 hours.
The death toll in the country stands at 15,685, as per the latest health ministry data .
