Bihar Caste Census : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar After Leading A 11 Member Delegation, Says Issue Will Be Decided By Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived at South Block and met PM Narendra Modi over caste census. Nitish led a team of 11 political leaders from the state, including RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav.

Interestingly though what caught the eye was after the meeting with the Prime Minister, CM Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, who are bitter rivals in Bihar, were seen talking and standing together.

Later talking to media , Nitish told ANI, he prime minister listened to all members of the delegation on caste census in the state. We urged the PM to take an appropriate decision on it. We briefed him on how resolutions have been passed twice in the state assembly on caste census.

Our delegation met the PM today not only for caste census in the state (Bihar) but in the entire country. We are awaiting a decision on this now, said Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader to ANI

Apart from Tejashwi Yadav, former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and education minister Vijay Kumar Chowdhry will also accompany Nitish Kumar for the meeting with PM Modi.

“To hold a caste-based Census has been a long-standing demand of Bihar. In this regard, we are meeting the PM today,” says HAM president and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi.
