#Battle For Goa : BJP CM Pramod Sawant Confident Of Return With Majority, State Recorded More Than 75 % Voter Turnout

The one day poll for coastal state of Goa, with over 11 lakh voters, having 301 candidates contesting from 40 Assembly seats ended  today . According to Election data, the state recorded over 75 % voter turnout. The coastal state of Goa, with over 11 lakh voters, has 301 candidates contesting from 40 Assembly seats.

As per Election Commission data, Sanquelim from where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is contesting Goa Assembly polls continues to witness the highest percentage of voters’ turnout of 54 per cent followed by Sanguem with 53.91 per cent voter turnout.

In the Priol constituency, around 51.55 per cent of people have cast their votes till 1 pm and Quepem has recorded a voter turnout of 50.94 per cent.

People are voting enthusiastically to defeat corruption, we will witness sea-change; let’s wait for March 10 results Aam Aadmi Party CM candidate Amit Palekar was quoted as saying by ANI. He further said , “This is our moment to bring a change”.

After casting his vote,  BJP CM Pramod Sawant was quoted as saying  by ANI , I’m in Cotombi Village and have cast my vote. I appeal to public to come out in huge numbers to vote. BJP govt’s work is in front of everyone. Utpal Parrikar (independent) and Michael Lobo (Congress) won’t win, as BJP is coming with a majority.

Goa achieved 78.94% voting. The highest voter turnout was recorded in the Sanquelim constituency at 89.64%. North Goa has registered a maximum turnout of 79% than South Goa at 78%. In today’s polling 14 EVM’s & 8 ballet were replaced, Goa Chief Electoral Officer Kunal told ANI
