Asaduddin Owaisi Cites National Security, Asks Centre To Clear Stand On Taliban

After Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abullah sought clarification from the Modi government whether Taliban is terror organisation or not , All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has in his latest attack has lashed out at the Central government asking it to clear the country’s stand on the Taliban.

“It’s a matter of national security. The Centre must clear India’s stand on Taliban whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government see them as a terrorist organisation or not?” asked the AIMIM chief.

His remarks came after India’s ambassador to Qatar Deepak Mittal on Tuesday met a senior Taliban leader in Doha, the Indian Foreign Ministry said in the first-ever officially acknowledged meeting between the two sides.

“Today, Ambassador of India to Qatar, Deepak Mittal, met Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the head of Taliban’s Political Office in Doha. The meeting took place at the Embassy of India, Doha, at the request of the Taliban side,” the statement had said.
