5thT20#NZvInd : India Complete 5-0 Whitewash, Outclass Kiwis By 7 Runs In Final T20 Match

India have routed New Zealand 5-0 in the five match T20 series. The men in blue won the final T20 encounter at Mount Maunganui by 7 runs.

Earlier, India’s stand in skipper Rohit Sharma leading the side in place of rested Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first.

Sanju Samson opening the batting once again filed to grab the opportunity and was out for only 2. But in- from K L Rahul 45 off 33 balls and a fine 60 off 41 balls by skipper Rohit Sharma put India back in the match. Shreyas Iyer chipped in with a cameo 33 off 31 balls . India finished at 163/ 3 in 20 overs.

For the kiwis , Tim Southee the stand-in skipper was expensive 0/52 (4 overs) Scott Kuggeleijn 2/ 25 ( 4 overs), Hamish Bennett 1/ 21 ( 4 overs), Ish Sodhi 0/ 28 ( 4 overs), Mitchell Santner 0/36 ( 4 overs)

New Zealand in reply lost wickets at regular intervals . Tim Seifert scored 50, experienced Ross Taylor chipped in with fighting 53 . But the rest caved in and could manage only 156/ 9 in their 20 overs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah was outstanding with 3/ 12 off his four overs. He was brilliant the death overs. A spell that dashed the Kiwis hopes of a win. Other to chip in with wickets were Washington Sundar 1/ 20 (3 overs) Navdeep Saini 2/ 23 ( 4 overs), Shardul Thakur 2/ 38 ( 4 overs)

K L Rahul was named Man of the series.
