Congress president Rahul Gandhi at press conference   at the party headquarters slammed the government of BJP and hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Senior leaders P Chidambaram , Anand Sharma, Ahmed Patel, and Communications- in charge Randeep Singh Surjewala were also present on the occasion.

Gandhi attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party for claiming credit for the listing of JeM chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist and accused it of compromising on the issue of terror.

Reminding the BJP of the Kandahar incident, Gandhi said: “Strictest of actions should be taken against Masood Azhar, but who sent him back to Pakistan? Who bowed down to terror and released him? Not the Congress, but it was the BJP government.”

Slamming the Modi government for politicising the army , Congress president said : “The army is not Prime Minister Narendra Modis personal property. He shouldn’t politicise the army, cannot insult army jawans. Insulting army is insulting the nation. While Congress doesn’t politicise the army. Congress didn’t conduct surgical strikes but the army did.”

He hit out at the Election Commission . Accusing it of bias . The EC is on a straight line when it comes to BJP, but with Congress it is different.

Gandhi also touched on the burning issues, the biggest issue right now is unemployment and the way Modi ji has destroyed the economy. Country is asking that Modi ji you promised us 2 crore jobs, what about that? He doesn’t speak a word on jobs or farmers as he has nothing to say.

Gandhi pointed out that there is no backing out on the chowkidar chor comment,  I made a comment attributed to SC so I apologized. I did not apologize to BJP or Modi ji. ‘Chowkidar Chor hai’ will remain our slogan.
