#VIVOIPL 2019 : Delhi Capitals Beat Kolkata Knight Riders In A Thriller, Courtesy Super Over

Delhi Capitals snatched victory from  jaws of defeat as they clinched a sensational win over the Kolkata Knight Riders by a super over. The match was a thriller at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Put into bat by Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer, KKr found the going very tough and runs hard to come by. But once again Andre Russell resurrected the Kolkata innings with his blistering innings . Russell in devastating form smashed a 28 ball 62 with 2 fours and 6 towering sixes. Skipper Dinesh Karthik too found his form to hit a timely well made 50 off 36 balls and put on 95 run stand with Russell for the sixth wicket . At one stage KKR were reeling at 64 for 5. KKR thanks to Russell reached a fighting 185 / 8 in 20 overs.

Chasing 186 for win , Delhi Capitals looked on target with young 19 year-old Prithvi Shaw leading the charge with a superb 99 off 55 balls. Shaw agonisingly missed his ton by one run. Skipper Shreyas Iyer too looked in fine form striking 43 off 32 and an 89 run stand with Shaw. Shikhar Dhawan fell for ( 16) . Shaw later added 54 with Rishabh Pant ( 11). Delhi almost messed up the chase with loss of wickets in quick succession but somehow managed to reach 185 / 6 in 20 overs. Setting the fate of the match to be decided by the super over.

For KKR,  Kuldeep Yadav 2/ 41 ( 4 overs), Lockie Ferguson 1/ 38 ( 4 overs), Piyush Chawla 1/ 36 ( 4 overs) , Andre Russell 1/ 28 ( 3 overs) bagged the wickets

In the super over, Delhi Capitals paceman Kagiso Rabada defended the 10 runs . DC scored 10 with Rishabh Pant not out 6 and Shreyas Iyer out for 4. KKR bowler was Prasidh Krishna 1/ 10

In reply KKR could score only 7 . Andrew Russell 4, Robin Uthappa 2 And Dinesh Karthik 1. Kagiso was the bowler for DC with figures of 1/ 7.

Delhi capitals hence won the thriller by 3 runs. It was their second win. And for KKR it was their first loss.
