5th ODI : Ambati Rayudu The Hero, As India Beat New Zealand By 35 Runs, Clinch Series 4-1

After a poor outing in the previous ODI , India bounced back to win the fifth ODI against New Zealand at Wellington by 35 runs against New Zealand. India thus Clinch the 5 match ODI series 4-1.

It was not easy win as the scoreline suggests. India were at one point reeling at 18 / 4 with the bat. But timely knocks by Ambati Rayudu ( 90) and his 98 run partnership with Vijay Shankar ( 45) , Kedar Jadhav ( 34) and nice cameo by Hardik Pandya 45 off 22 balls gave India bowlers something to bowl at . India a reached competitive total of 252 .

The top order flopped again for India – skipper Rohit Sharma another flop ( 2), Shikhar Dhawan ( 6) , Shubman Gill ( 7), Mahendra Singh Dhoni ( 1). Matt Hennry took 4/ 35 and Trent Boult bowled well again to nab 3/ 39 for the Kiwis.

In reply New Zealand were badly hurt by losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 217 in 44. 1 overs. For the Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson ( 39) , Tom latham ( 37) and James Neesham ( 44) were the the notable scorers with the bat.

For India Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took three for 41, while Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya gave good support picking up two wickets each
