Congress Conquers Rajasthan : Ashok Gehlot Takes Oath As Chief Minister, Sachin Pilot His Deputy

There is now a Congress government in Rajasthan. After Congress president Rahul Gandhi held long deliberations as to who will become the next chief Minister? The suspense is now over. The 67- year-old two time veteran Ashok Gehlot took oath as Chief Minister for the third time.

PCC chief Sachin Pilot , who worked hard to rebuild the party since 2013 took oath as the deputy Chief Minister. The 41 – year-old would stay on as PCC chief as the party targets the all important Lok Sabha polls of 2019.

Besides Congress president Rahul Gandhi, other leaders present on the occasion were :  Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy, Mallikarjuna Kharge, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, Sharad Yadav, National Confertence patron and former J& K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Tejashwi Yadav, DMK president MK Stalin and TR Baalu among others.

Leaders to miss out include  Former UP Chief Ministers -Samajwadi party’s Akhilesh Yadav, BSP supremo Mayawati and TMC and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The out- going former Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje was also seen at the event.
