Rafale Verdict : Rahul Gandhi Hits Back At BJP, Wants CAG Report, And Reiterates ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ Jibe At PM Modi

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has now questioned the basis of the apex court judgement on the Rafale deal, alleging that a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India mentioned in the judgement does not exist. Rahusl posed this query while reacting to the Supreme Court verdict on Rafale deal.  It has sparked off war of words between the BJP  and the Congress.

Gandhi read out a paragraph from the judgement which cited a CAG report on the deal.

The court had said the pricing details of the aircraft was provided to the CAG and that this CAG report had been examined by the Public Accounts Committee and a redacted portion placed before Parliament.

“Where is this report of the CAG? Show it to us if it exists,” said Gandhi, flanked by Public Accounts Committee chairman Mallikarjuna Kharge.

“The government will have to explain to us where is the CAG report. Show it to PAC chairman Kharge. Maybe a different PAC is running parallelly, maybe in a different Parliament, maybe in Parliament of France. It’s possible Modiji has constituted his own PAC in PMO,” he said.

Calling for the joint parliamentary committee, Rahul said entire country believes chowkidar chor hai.
