8000 Plus Runners Participate In ‘The Tribute Run’ To Commemorate The Brave Hearts Of 26/11 On The 10th Anniversary Of Mumbai Terror Attacks

More than 8000 runners came together to pay a sporting tribute to the martyrs and brave hearts of 26/11 by participating in ‘The Tribute Run’ on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Mumbai Terror Attacks. Presented by IDBI Federal Life Insurance, in association with The Seahawks Foundation, The Tribute Run was flagged off from NSCI in Mumbai.

The three race categories – 21km, 10km and 5km – were flagged off by . Karthik Raman, CMO, IDBI Federal Life Insurance;  Julio Ribeiro, Former Mumbai Police Commissioner and Founder of NGO – Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT); Purav Raja, International Tennis Player; Tara Sharma, Fitness enthusiast and Film/Television Actress; GOC LT Gen Prashar;  Jayantilal Shah, President, The National Sports Club of India and Ms. Mayank Vyas Singh, Race Organizer.

Prior to each race, celebrated global fitness trainer, Mickey Mehta and his team got the runners geared up, both physically and mentally, through an enthusiastic and lively warm-up session. Also, encouraging the runners were Rashmi Kumar Mehra, a cancer survivor who ran along with her son, and Nishriin Parikh, award-winning fitness trainer and bodybuilder. At the start and finish point, the runners were heralded by the Sikh Regiment pipe and brass band of the Indian Army. Post the race, a talented group of students from The Cathedral and John Connon School paid tribute to the 26/11 brave hearts through a beautiful and moving musical performance.

With the motive of running for the ones who stood together, The Tribute Run witnessed participation from runners of various age groups and backgrounds, including members of the Defence Forces and Mumbai Police, portraying solidarity in the face of terror. Medals were conferred upon finishers of all the races by NCC cadets.
