Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh Orders Magisterial Inquiry On The Amritsar Train Accident

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Amritsar tragedy.

He also ordered immediate release of Rs 3 crore to district collecter Amritsar for payment of ex gratia to the families of the deceased.

“We are ordering a magisterial inquiry into the incident under the police commissioner who will submit a report in 4 weeks,” Singh said after visiting the Civil Hospital in Amritsar where the injured have been admitted.

“When a tragedy occurs the entire administration gets involved. We have come here as soon as we could come. Today, the entire cabinet of Punjab is here,” Singh said.

Meanwhile ,Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to twitter to express sadness over loss of lives due to tragedy
