Out of IPL 2018 , Delhi Daredevils pulled off a consolation but a upset win as they beat the much fancied Chennai Super Kings by 34 runs during an IPL encounter at Feroz Shah Kotla , Delhi on a hot summer night.

Delhi scored 162 / 5 in their 20 overs . Then Delhi leg-spinners Amit Mishra (2/20) and Sandeep Lamichhane (1/21) bowled well and restricted CSK to 128 for six. All-rounder Patel chipped in with the ball as well by taking the prized wicket of  in- form CSK  opener Ambati Rayudu (50 off 29).

left- hander Suresh Raina (15 off 18), dropped by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant on the first ball he faced, did not make it count as Nepal spinner Lamichhane had him caught at deep midwicket. Skipper MS Dhoni (17 off 23) struggled to get runs for a change .

Earlier, Delhi total was built around important knocks Vijay Shankar ( 36 off 26 ) and Harshal Patel ( 36 off 16) the pair put on 65 off 32 balls .

For CSK Lungi Ngidi (2/14) removed  skipper Shreyas Iyer (19 off 22) and top run-getter Rishabh Pant (38 off 29) in the 11th over.

The unexpected loss was CSK’s fifth in 13 matches and they remain second on the points table. The win was Delhi’s fourth . The team had failed due to poor team selection and form of overseas players. Glenn Maxwell in particular flopped again, Nothing new,

His IPL career has been a total disaster. 61 innings with three fifties and an average of 19 is scandalous. The Aussie all- rounder besides his flop show hardly looks interested in the middle. His body language indicates that .
