After a rather slow start by opener Shane Watson and Faf Du Plessis, CSK helped by Ambati Rayudu’s power knock of 79 off only 37 balls and Suresh Raina’s 43-ball 54 posted 182 /3. After being put into b at by SRH skipper kane Williamson

The pair of Rayudu and Raina added 112 runs for the third wicket as SRH struggled for breakthroughs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium .

While Rayudu hit four sixes and nine boundaries, Raina hit 5 fours and two sixes after getting of to a rather uncharacteristic slow start.

Skipper Dhoni was in his mood straight away and hit a 12-ball 25, hitting three boundaries and a six.

While chasing the target, SRH got off to a horror start losing three wickets early to seamer Deepak Chahar. 25-year-old Chahar returned very impressive figures of three for 15 in four overs, his victims comprising Ricky Bhui, Manish Pandey and Deepak Hooda.

SRH Skipper Williamson top-scored with 84 off 51 balls. Williamson found an able ally in Yusuf Pathan (45 off 27 balls) raised hopes of an SRH victory with a brisk 79-run stand for the fourth wicket. Later on a cameo 17 off 4 balls towards the end by Rashid Khan gave CSK some jitters but SRH could manage to reach only 178/ 6 . Thus losing by 4 runs.
