Indian women’s cricket team fittingly hailed for spirited ICC World Cup 2017 performance

Though the title slipped out of their grasp after being so close to history,  the Indian women’s cricket team despite the heartbreak earned kudos aplenty for its gritty ICC 2017 World Cup World Cup campaign with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself leading the tributes.

PM  Modi took to Twitter to encourage Indian women’s World Cup squad for their “remarkable tenacity and skill” as the Indian eves suffered a heartbreaking 9-run defeat at the hands of England.

Others who hailed the team on Twitter for their superlative show were Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag Rohit Sharma, Bollywood Superstars – Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar shared a photograph with the team’s players and captioned it, “Even Broken Hearts Can Laugh!! These Women have started a revolution & I couldn’t be more proud.”
