10th Regional Quality Conclave On ‘Quality And Manufacturing Excellence For Sustainable Growth’

QCI jointly with FOSMI recently organised its 10th Regional Quality Conclave (RQC) at the Park, Kolkata on the theme ” Quality & Manufacturing Excellence for Sustainable Growth’’.

The Conclave had four interesting Sessions on Leadership and Quality impacting the profitability of an enterprise, Evolving manufacturing trends for competitiveness, Lean & Smart Manufacturing and Accreditation and Training.

The program was inaugurated by Sadhan Pande, Hon’ble Minister-in- charge, Consumer Affairs and Self Help Group, Govt. of West Bengal wherein he said,‘’MSMEs were in a very bad shape in the state earlier but now it is gaining shape through our continuous efforts. QCI and FOSMI together should come forward to help us grow better. We strive to give our best to improve the condition of MSMEs by arranging for trainings to the youth of the state. The role of QCI and FOSMI in this regard will play a pivotal role.’’

In his inaugural address, C K Biswas, CEO, NBQP/QCI said :”The objective of the Regional Quality Conclave is to effectively sensitize the masses in the Industrial sectors that Quality including Technology and Innovations are vital for the growth and sustainability of the organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, Biswanath Bhattacharya, President, FOSMI said that the success of a structured manufacturing excellence program rests on key drivers or enablers in any organisation. Manufacturing excellence is the need of the hour to ensure continuous improvement of management systems and business processes for superior business performance across industries.

Sessions of the Conclave were also addressed by Avik Mitra, Principal Advisor, QCI; Gautam Chakraborty, Lead Assessor, QCI and ZED Master Trainer; C R Maitra, Lean and ZED Consultant Neogi Technologies; Mr Sanjay Bahety, I & B Engineers Pvt Ltd; Alok Mukherjea, Chairman, Howden Solyvent; Dr Gautam Sengupta, VC Techno India University; Dr Arpan Pal, Head of Embedded Systems and Robotics, TCS Research & Innovation; Ms Priyanka Bhattacharya, Auropol India; Rajeevlochan Sharma from Titan; Ashish Agrawal, Chairman, Ori-Plast; Dr N C Murmu, Sr Principal Scientist, CSIR-CMERI Durgapur; Dr Surjya K Pal, IIT Khargpur;Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal- CEO, National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) and Ms Vanita Yadav, Director, NABET/QCI.

Around 200 delegates from different sectors of the Manufacturing Industry attended the conclave .

The main priority of Conclaves like these are to effectively highlight the importance of best practices of quality and manufacturing in industries as critical change agents for sustainable growth.
