Stand- in skipper Rohit Sharma once again led from the front as India emphatically clinched the T20 series against West Indies by a convincing 71 runs in the second match at Lucknow.
Rohit blasted an unbeaten 111 from 61 balls to power India to 195 for two in 20 overs after they were put into bat . Rohit achieved twin records during his knock , first by surpassing regular captain Virat Kohli to become India’s highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals followed by most number of centuries in shortest format.
When he reached a personal score of 11, he overtook Kohli’s India record of 2101 runs. He smashed a record fourth century in T20 Internationals.
And that was not all , he put on 123 for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan to power India to a huge total which was too tough for the West Indies to chase in the end.
In reply the visitors struggled right through and could manage only 124 for nine in their 20 overs with Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed picking up two wickets each
