Battle For Madhya Pradesh 2018 : Around 75 Percent Voting, Shivraj Singh Chouhan Confident Of Absolute Majority, Targets 200 Seats

In the much hyped Madhya Pradesh assembly polls of 2018 which is expected to see a tough contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress, around 74 percent voting was recorded even as there were complaints of faulty Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at some places in the state.

As many as 1,146 EVMs and 1,545 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines were replaced after complaints of technical snags, MP’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V L Kantha Rao said, according to media reports.

Kamal Nath cast his vote in Chhindwara district while the party’s campaign committee chief Jyotiraditya Scindia exercised his franchise in Gwalior.

BJP chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who is seeking a record fourth term exuded confidence . “We are 100% certain that BJP will form government with an absolute majority. We have set a target of 200 seats and our lakhs of volunteers are working to make it a reality,” said the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.
