Army Chief Bipin Rawat has stern message to Pakistan. He said that if Pakistan does desires for talks with India then it must stop promoting terrorism . terror and talks cannot go side- by side.
“Talks are not being held because our government’s policy is that talks and terrorism cannot take place together. We have given a clear message for Pakistan. The government’s policy is clear that Pakistan has to prove with their actions that they are not promoting terrorism,” he said.
Rawat has endorsed the government’s stand on cancelling the scheduled meeting of India and Pakistani foreign ministers during the UNGA in New York. Sushma Swaraj was to meet Shah Mehmood Qureshi after a request by Pakistsn Prime Minister Imran Khan.
But the brutal killings of Jammu and Kashmir policemen after their abduction and the massive outrage forced the Modi government to cancel talks. The opposition parties lead by the Congress slammed the government for its flip – flop Pakistan foreign policy.
