Ace singer Britney Spears is on cloud nine these days . And why should not be?. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her first single titled : Baby One more Time”. The number turned the singer into an overnight star and a face world wide. It was a runaway success with 10 million copies sold.
Speaking with the Guardian recently, she looked back at the beginning of her career in pop music. “Wow, that went quick,” she said of the past two decades. “It was such a fun and crazy time, it was a bit of a blur.”
Referred to as the “Princess of Pop”, Spears was credited with influencing the revival of teen pop, during the late 1990s and the early 2000s.
Five of Spears’ singles have reached number one in the United States: “…Baby One More Time”, “Womanizer”, “3”, “Hold It Against Me” and “S&M”. Other singles, “Oops!… I Did It Again” and “Toxic”, topped the Australian and Canadian charts.
