Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is facing the heat in the state. On the political level there is the widening gap with the ally Shiv Sena and the alliance is on the brink of collapse on host of issues. Adding to the he chief minister’s comfort is the latest issue – Maratha quota stir.

The embattled Fadnavis has hence called a meeting of the BJP ministers and party legislatures of the Maratha community to sort of this tricky issue. The main focus of the meeting was to reach out to the leaders of the agitation.

The government will provide additional manpower and technical support to the commission so that it can submit its report by August-end, a month before the scheduled date, the source said.
