Rajnath Singh Terms Mob Lynchings As Unfortunate, Asks States To Punish The Guilty

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh , while speaking in the Lok Sabha has expressed regret over thee spate of mob lynchings in various parts of the country. According to reports  coming in during the zero hour, a Congress member raises the issue of attack on Swami Agnivesh. He asked why nobody has been arrested yet .

In his reply , Singh said he condemns such incidents. Most of these incidents are triggered due to “unverified fake news.” Public order is a state subject. The Home Ministry has sent advisory to States twice, in 2016 and 2018.

The minister further said social media service providers have been asked to install checks in their platforms and hence asked social site for regulation.

Such incidents are unfortunate, I have spoken to the chief ministers personally to ensure the perpetrators are arrested.
