Monsoon Session: TDP’s No Confidence Motion Against Government Admitted By Lok Sabha Speaker

The Monsoon session of Parliament has begun on a stormy note. And it promises to be a slug fest as well. This apprehension comes in the wake of the Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan admitted the motion of no- confidence moved by the TDP on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s  government at the Centre.

The motion was moved by TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas. The speaker admitted the motion as over 50 opposition party MPs stood in its support.

The speaker will allocate date and time for the debate and discussion on the motion.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has told the Lok Sabha that no Question Hour and private member’s Bill introduction will be held on Friday to make way for a day-long discussion on the no-confidence motion.

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has said that the party is confident and not worried about numbers ahead of trust vote, according to a report by News18.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar, said that the NDA government will face the no confidence motion and need not worry as it has the numbers and has huge majority .
