France with their brand of attacking football and having a plying eleven with blend of youth and experience won the FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018 . The French team in the much talked about final against Croatia were simply too good as they romped home with a crushing 4-2 victory. Antione Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe were the scores for France , while they got an own goal from Croatia courtesy – Mario Mandzukic

The French thus put behind their bitter loss to Portugal at the Euro 2016 final in Paris to win their second World Cup after 1998.

This win was a special one for French coach Didier Deschamps . He was skipper of the team that won the World Cup in 1998 and now won it as a coach. Thus becoming only the third player in the history to have won the World Cup as a player and coach . Brazil’s Mario Zagallo ( player in 1958, coach 1970) and Germany’s Legendary ‘Kaiser’ Franz Beckenbauer ( Captain in 1974 and coach in 1990).

The French win ended a truly fascinating World Cup in Russia 2018. The tournament saw many surprises as top guns – Germany ( Defending Champions), Brazil , Argentina, Portugal, Spain, crashed out early sending shockwaves in the football fraternity.

Performances by Croatia, England, hosts Russia, Belgium, South Korea lit up the tournament. And kudos to Russia for pulling the mega event in perfect way.
