India will be mighty pleased with the way Rohit Sharma is batting in England till now. After he scored a fabulous hundred to help the men in blue win the T20 series, Rohit hit another masterly unbeaten knock of 137 off 114 balls to help India crush England by 8 wickets in the first ODI at Trent Bridge Nottingham. It was Rohit’s 18th ODI century
Rohit featured a superb 167 run stand with skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli too was in fine form striking a brilliant 75 off just 82 balls. India chased down the England total of 268 with 59 balls remaining.
Rohit had earlier gave India a good start along with Shikar Dhawan ( 40 off 27 balls) to give the innings the momentum.
Earlier, England were once again foxed by chinaman Kuldeep Yadav. The spinner bowled yet another match- winning spell. He had a stunning figures of 6 for 25 form his 10 overs.
Barring Joss Buttler’s 53 other English batsmen had no clue and the batting crumbled in 49.5 overs to be bowled out for 268.
Though England did get off to a good start with 73 runs from the openers . But then failed to keep the momentum and they lost wickets at regular intervals.
Thus pegging them back and dashing their hopes of a big total to put pressure on India .
