IPL 2018 : Delhi Daredevils Knock Out Defending Champions Mumbai Indians By 11 Runs

Delhi Daredevils ended their disastrous IPL 2018 campaign on w high as they ousted defending champions Mumbai Indians by 11 runs on a very hot day Feroz Shah Kotla Delhi in an IPL encounter.

Set a target of 175, the Mumbai Indians surprisingly crumbled against leg-spin bowling by Sandeep Lamichhane (3/36), Amit Mishra (3/19) and the medium pace of Harshal Patel (3/28).

Evin Lewis (48), Kieron Pollard (7) and Krunal Pandya (4) fell cheaply putting lot of pressure on the defending champions . Later Hardik Pandya (27) and skipper Rohit Sharma (11) added 43 runs before they were sent back as Mumbai slipped to 122 for seven in 14.5 overs more or less ending their play- offs hopes. Rohit Sharma once again flopped. It has been a forgettable IPL 2018 for Mumbai skipper as he struggled for runs.

Ben Cutting tried his best with a 19-ball 37 before MI were dismissed for 163 in 19.3 overs.

Earlier , Rishab Pant (64) continued his fantastic IPL 2018 , hitting his fifth half-century of the season, to guide Delhi to a competitive score. Pant shared a 64-run fourth wicket stand off 47 balls with Vijay Shankar (43 not out).

The 17-year-old Abhishek Sharma (15) then joined Shankar and the duo added 35 off 19 balls. Krunal (1/11), Jasprit Bumrah (1/29) and Mayank Markande (1/21) took a wicket each for MI.
