Soon after  BJP’s Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa resigned citing lack of numbers on his side in The Karnataka assembly ,  The opposition leaders were quick comment on the issue and  wasted no time at hitting at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press conference said : “The PM is not bigger than the people of India. We will save the nation from the BJP. We have saved the people of Karnataka. The idea behind RSS is to control every institution of the country. The Governor has no choice. The power is controlled by the PM and RSS. Even if the governor resigns, the next man will come and do the same thing.”

He further said : The idea that (Narendra) Modi is fighting corruption is a lie, he is corruption. He is doing everything that to subvert the institutions of India. I hope the BJP And RSS learn their lesson that not all institutions of this country can be subverted. BJP disrespected the mandate of Karnataka, Goa and Manipur.

Congress party’s Communications in charge Randeep Surjewala tweeted his reaction :

“Today is a historic day in Indian politics. BS Yeddyurappa in Vidhan Soudha agreed to do a floor test. He couldn’t do it. This is a victory of democracy. There was immense pressure on the Governor by the central government. The Governor’s decision was a blot on Indian democracy. We should respect the people’s mandate. It is a responsibility of all politicians and democratic heads. PM Modi and his ministers are working against the democracy. BJP has no respect for the democracy,” says former CM Siddaramaiah as he compares PM Modi to Adolf Hitler and Amit Shah to Hitler’s right-hand man Joseph Goebbels.

Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram tweeted

“Democracy has won in Karnataka. The conspiracy made by the BJP has failed to authorize the anti-constitutional measures,” Siddaramaiah tweeted.
